Save the Children (SC) is a leading independent, rights-based organization for children. It was founded in London in 1919. Having started its operations in Mongolia in 1994, SC currently employs approximately 50 staff members and works in seven provinces of Mongolia, implementing programs in Child Protection, Child Rights Governance, Child Poverty, Education, and Health sectors.

About the Role:

Under the supervision of the Project Manager, the Project Officer takes responsibility for the execution of project activities, including planning, preparation, coordination, logistics, implementation, and monitoring and evaluation, and reporting in accordance with the SC’s policies and the donor’s compliance. The incumbent’s main duties will include the following, but not limited to:

  • Ensure timely implementation of newly designed Entrepreneurship focused Socioemotional Skill training program and sub-grant scheme among adolescent and youth
  • Develop ToRs for consulting services and technical specifications, and review and follow up consultants to ensure key deliverables
  • Support and guide the aimag and soum level project committees and field officers
  • Track project progress and results, conduct on-site monitoring in target locations, and adjust plans as required;
  • Prepare and circulate project reports, documents, and information to all stakeholders in a timely manner
  • Ensure effective control of project expenditure, in-kind and sub-grants, and other resources;
  • Undertake translation tasks from English to Mongolian and vice versa, and interpretation tasks as required

Person Profile:

To be successful you will have:

  • Degree in a relevant field, such as business administration, education, and social science
  • At least three years of relevant professional and project implementation experience in education, youth support, community development, or business sector
  • Applied experience designing or/and organizing training for youth
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of socioemotional/life skills education and youth-led enterprise
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills with multiple stakeholders and all beneficiaries, especially adolescents and youth
  • Fluent in spoken and written Mongolian and English
  • Experience in the private sector or business would be valued
  • Ability to work on own initiative as well as a member of a team and skilled to deal with people with diplomacy. Willingness/ability to undertake field trips.
