VACANCY OF FINANCE AND GRANTS OFFICER
Save the Children is a leading independent, rights-based organization for children. It was founded in London in 1919, commemorating its 100th anniversary in 2019. Having started its operations in Mongolia in 1994, Save the Children currently employs approximately 50 staff members and works in five provinces of Mongolia, implementing projects in Child Protection, Child Rights Governance, Child Poverty, Education, and Health sectors. Our vision is a world in which every child attains the right to survival, protection, development, and participation.
Due to the expansion of our programmes, we are now seeking a Finance and Grant Officer to work at our office in Ulaanbaatar. Under the supervision of the Finance Manager (FM), s/he supports the FM in undertaking necessary tasks for ensuring that the organization’s accounting and finance activities are in accordance with its internal policies, complying with the national legislative requirements. S/he will also be responsible for timely preparation of financial and budget monitoring reports, development of budgets and spending projections for new and existing projects and coordination with the FM for audits, ensuring that the audit recommendations are effectively implemented.

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting and Business Administration with at least 5 years of relevant experience. Masters in a similar field would be preferred.
- Minimum of three years experience in financial management and reporting, and grants management with international organizations
- Budget development skills for donor-funded projects and general ledger skills
- Good analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills
- Proven proactive skills in identifying cost savings, cost avoidance and efficiency opportunities
- Ability to develop effective work plan and priorities to meet organization’s objectives
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communications skills
- Familiarity with or knowledge of projects funded by various international donors and grants management policies and procedures.
- Ability to manage tight deadlines and deliver high volumes of work with minimal supervision
- Excellent command of both written and spoken English
- Knowledge of the taxation requirements and other legal requirements in Mongolia
